Cataract Falls

A must see! Largest waterfalls in Indiana, part of the State Park system.

Cataract Falls are the headwaters of Cagles Mill Lake. The Upper and Lower Falls, located at the southern end of the lake, are great for day trips and sightseeing. Upper Cataract Falls drops 30 feet, while the Lower Falls drop an additional 18 feet about half of a mile downstream. There is a beautiful trail between the two falls that is highly recommended.  There is no swimming at the falls.

These falls can be viewed from a hiking trail that winds between the Upper and Lower Falls. Those feeling extra adventurous can also reach the Lower Falls by kayak. Along many portions of the shoreline, rock bluffs can be found, offering spectacular views along the way.
